Loosing Weight needs to be a mindset. As we age the weight seems to come on unless we do a couple of things
- Eat less calories
- Exercise more
- Love ourselves
Yes, you read that last one correctly. We need to love ourselves, but not in an arrogant way. We need to see ourselves as being created in the image of God and as his child. Many of you don’t really love yourselves enough in the correct way. This is not self righteous or self in anyway.
The truth is you need to repent of self guilt, self bitterness and forgive yourself for anything that may torment you. We let the things of this world torment us and rule our lives. Love your self as Christ loves you. Imagine what that is like. It is so wonderful to be free of the baggage. Okay you are thinking this is not so easy. I know it isn’t but you can take action right now and start the process. Process—did you read that?
Forgive yourself for all the self stuff. Ask God to forgive you as well. Okay now you have a clean slate, now lets work with that.
You may have to do this daily or several times a day, if you feel the thoughts coming back. Take Authority. Curl up in the lap of the Lord and let Him hold you and minister healing to your broken heart.
So you say what does this have to do with weight loss and mindset?
Can’t you see the mindset change as you forgive yourself? Good work! Tell yourself you are the child of the Most HIgh God, and He Loves YOU!
YOU are precious in HIS sight.
Your mindset is changing, a work in progress. For me I had to go through the process and realize I am worthy. When we change our mindset to believe we are worthy and capable, much of the emotional eating habits slowly dissipate. Many of you eat for comfort. Do you recognize that in yourself?
That is an UN-loving spirit –so forgive yourself and others and God. LOVE yourself. You are worthy!!
When you find that you are loved and worthy than that leads to less eating and the desire to increase the exercise. Life feels worth living.
OH I know many have health problems or take medications that make it so difficult to loose weight. We can work through those things. Don’t let that stop you from making good food choices, nor from exercising. It is a win-win situation when we choose to eat healthy, cut calories to reasonable portions and exercise.
Exercise increases the neurotransmitters in the brain called the PEA. When these are increased our whole mood is better. Excellent for depression as well.
So I contend that weightloss is a mindset. I don’t discount that taking the initiative is difficult. YOU can do this! YOU are loved and worthy. YOU are worthy of a long life in divine health.
Change your "loosing weight mindset" and get on the pathway to ultimate health and wholeness.
